Access To Breast & Cervical Cancer Treatment Petition
Petitions will be presented to the Governor and Ohio General Assembly
(your email address will not appear on the petition)
Whereas every year nearly 2,000 Ohioans under age 65 are diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer and have no health insurance
Whereas uninsured breast cancer patients are more likely to die than those with insurance
Whereas breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in women and there is no known cure or prevention
Whereas early detection of breast cancer is not effective in reducing mortality unless patients have access to treatment
We, the undersigned, request the Governor and General Assembly of the State of Ohio enact legislation or otherwise authorize
the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services to amend its Medicaid Plan to include Option 3 of the Breast & Cervical
Cancer Treatment Program to provide Medicaid coverage to uninsured or underinsured breast or cervical cancer patients diagnosed
with breast cancer throughout Ohio for the duration of their treatment and follow up care.
